DANVILLE VETERANS MEMORIAL BUILDING !

SPECIFIC REQUESTS OR RECOMMENDATiON(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDATION
APPROVE a Lease Amendment with the Board of Trustees of the Danville Veterans Memorial
Building and a Sublease between Board of Trustees and the Town of Danville, both
commencing May 1, 1999, for the premises at 400 Martz Avenue, Danville, for continued
occupancy by the Board of Trustees and the Town of Danville, under the terms and conditions
more particularly set forth in said Lease Amendment and Sublease, and AUTHORIZE the
Director of General Services to EXECUTE said Lease Amendment and APPROVE said
Sublease on behalf of the County.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT
Linder the Lease Amendment, the Veterans will continue to pay the County $1.00 a year rent,
With the sublease between the Board of Trustees and the Town of Danville, the Town will assist
the Veterans with the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the building.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION / BACKGROUND
Provide for the continued use of the building by the Veterans and allow the Town of Danville to
use the building for numerous community programs.
