HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04061999 - P1 The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County In the Matter of Resolution No. 93/80 DECLARING ASL 22, 1999 AS CHILD'S AND FAMILY SERVICES PROVIDERS' DAY IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY WHEREAS, on April 22, 1999, the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Contra Costa County is presenting the Annual Warrington Stokes Award for significant contribution to the Feld of child abuse prevention in Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS,the Awards are named in honor of the former Chief of Program Planning for the County,Warrington Stokes. They are given in four categories: Community Service, Direct Service Practitioner, Child Protective Service Worker, and Special Achievement; and WHEREAS, although the awards themselves are given to only a handful of individuals each year, the.Awards Ceremony is a time for acknowledgement of the commitment and compassion of the countless individuals and agencies that provide critically needed services to the children and families of our County, despite limited resources and increasing demands for services. We are all fortunate to be able to benefit from their continuing services on behalf of children and families; and WHEREAS,Contra Costa County acknowledges the dedication and hard work of many individuals and agencies working in the field of Children's and Family Services and appreciates their continuing commitment to provide essential child abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment, as well as supportive family services, in communities throughout our County. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the.Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California,hereby declare April 22, 1999 as CHILDREN'S AND FAMILY SERVICES PROVIDERS' DAY in Contra Costa County and urge all citizens to support this most important cause.
