Authorize the Social Service Department for its Office on Aging to Let Requests for Proposals
(R.F.P. Nos. 014, 015, and 016).

Io RECOMMENDATION:
AUTHORIZE the Social Service Department for its Office on Aging to Let Request for
Proposals (RFP's) for the following:
RFP# Seryice AInroxmate Arnot3n_t
No. 014 Home Visiting $22,800 (Title III)
Home Visiting is provided to frail elderly persons to
reduce the risk of inappropriate institutionalization..
No. 015 In Horne Services Registry/Respite Registry
In Home Services Registry provides services to frail $35,762 (Title III)
elderly persons to reduce the risk of diminishing
capacities to perform essential household and personal
care tasks.
Respite Registry is set up to act as a respite care 8,000 (Older
information and referral agency that will recruit and Californians' Act)
screen respite providers and match them to clients.
No. 016 Adult Day Care $63,975 (Title III)
Adult Day Care is the provision of personal care for
dependent adults in a supervised, protective,
congregate setting during some portion of a 24 hour
day.

All funding is contingent upon,availability of sufficient Federal and State funding for the
terra of July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000.
II. INAN CIA L IMPACT
No impact; the services are funded through 100% State and Federal funds. The funds
will be included in the Social Services 1999°2000 budget. Match will be provided by
Contractors.
III. BACKCI20U I3
The California Department of Aging (CDA) allows the County to renew contracts for up
to four years based on availability of funds and contractor's satisfactory performance.
The county is obligated to let a Request for Proposal for the above programs at this time,
per CDA regulations.
