The demolition work is being contracted by Change order in accordance with section 20142 of the Public Contract Code. This work is required to prepare the site for the upcoming Chris Adams GirlsCenter project, which is currently Out to bid. The demolition work will expose the actual location and configuration of existing building systems; thereby enabling the bidders to incorporate this information in their remodel bids. The eventual program at the Chris Adams Girls Center depends in large part upon federal funding that may cease to be available to new programs that begin operation after December 31 , 1999.
