Class of Senior Financial Counsel }
Resolution No 99J 195
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors RESOLVES that:
1. The classification of Senior Financial Counsel - Exempt (2ED3) is established and
allocated to salary schedule/level M50 2837 ($7746 - $9415);
2. Deputy County Counsel - Advanced Level (2ETK) position no. 5763 shall be canceled and
one (1) 40/40 position added in the class of Senior Financial Counsel - Exempt (2ED3) on
the date the latter class becomes exempt from the merit system;
3. Deputy County Counsel - Advanced Level employee no. 25404 (Dennis Graves) shall be
appointed to Senior Financial Counsel - Exempt on the date the latter class becomes
exempt from the merit system;
4. Employment in the class of Senior Financial Counsel - Exempt shall be subject to the
following provisions:
1. The salary ranee for the class of Senior Financial Counsel - Exempt shall be the
same as for that for Assistant County Counsel - Exempt, including all benefits, and
may be adjusted from time to time by action of the Board of Supervisors.
11. The County Counsel may make an initial appointment of a County employee to any
step of the salary range, provided however, that a promotional appointment must
result in at least a five percent (5%) salary increase, if the salary level to the position
is assigned permits such adjustment.
Ill. After initial appointment, the County Counsel may increase or decrease the
appointee's salary to any step on the salary range once in each anniversary year.
No provision of this resolution shall be construed to make the maintenance or
advancement of salary steps mandatory.
IV. Service in the class of Senior Financial Counsel - Exempt shall be at the discretion
of the County Counsel, but the appointment shall, in any event, expire December
31, 2004. No person may obtain a vested right to continued appointment in the
class.
V. Any County employee appointed to the class of Senior Financial Counsel - Exempt
shall retain reversionary rights to the last non-exempt merit system class and salary
step held prior to appointment, and shall retain and accrue merit system seniority in
such non-exempt class.
Vl. Except as provided herein, the position in this class is subject to the Contra Costa
County Salary Regulations.
