Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has leased land at the Buchanan Field. Airport since at least 1979 for the location of a Remote Transmitter/Receiver. The Remote Transmitter/Receiver assists the FAA personnel in the Air'.Traffic Control Tower at Buchanan Field with the control of aircraft around the Airport. The previous lease with the FAA was last renewed in 1985, and has been automatically renewed on a year-to-year basis since then. The FAA now desires to replace the existing lease with a new lease under substantially similar terms. The new lease will be for one-year ending September 30, 2000, and will be automatically renewed annually unless terminated by the FAA. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: The County will not execute the renewal of the lease with the FAA.
