BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Mr. Draudson passed away recently from cancer. His term would have expired on December 31, 2400. The fire district employees are working on a number of ways to pay tribute to Corky's contributions to the community such as the establishment of a memorial scholarship fund for Freedom High School graduates and a park bench to be located somewhere in town. t will keep you informed as things develop if you would like to participate. We will need to find a replacement for the remainder of his Commission term which expires on December 31, 2000. The four remaining Commissioners are very active so there is no real hurry. I have a few people in mind, including Corky's wife Lori Draudson, that may be interested. In addition to placing the usual newspaper announcement we now have a large glass enclosed display case in the post office for posting "official" business for the service clubs, fire department, etc. If you will send me a copy of whatever is developed I will display it there. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: When each of these East County Advisory Councils were established in early 1994, the Board specified a sunset date of June 1, 1998 unless action was taken by the Board of Supervisors to extend their duration.
