SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
REC!QMMENDATIONM
1 Approve the following days and times for Budget and Public Hearings:
Budget Hearings
Tuesday, July 21 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, August 4 2:00 p.m.
Public Hearing
Tuesday, August 11 2:00 p.m.
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board to notice the Hearings as required by County Ordinance and
State Law.
BACKER-QUNDIREASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATIONM.
The Board of Supervisors annually conducts budget hearings wherein Department Heads and their
Finance Officers present their budget needs and the County Administrator presents a Recommended
Budget. The Board considers modifications to the Recommended Budget in view of the testimony
and directs the Administrator to prepare the necessary information at the Public Hearing.
The Public Hearing provides the general public with an opportunity to comment on the
Recommended Budget and propose other suggestions for the Board's consideration. After closing
the Hearing, the Board adopts the Recommended Budget with any modifications that are deemed
necessary.
The proposed schedule is very similar to last year's budget hearings.

SUBJECT: LEASE RENEWAL,FOR BAYO VISTA CHILD AND FAMILY CENTER, INC.
SPECIFIC REQUEST{S}OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
1. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa to enter
into a Lease Renewal with the Bayo Vista Child Center,Inc. located in Bayo Vista,Rodeo(Auditorium&Kitchen),as stated in
the attached Lease Renewal.
11. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
The Bayo Vista Child and Family Center,Inc. is used by the residents of Bayo Vista. The Center provides daycare for
their clients enabling them to attend school,go to job training,or be gainfully employed,and put them on the road to self-
sufficiency.These leases have been in effect since April, 1992.
IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Should the Board of Commissioners elect not to authorize the Executive Director to enter into the Lease Renewal with
the Bayo Vista Child and Family Center,Inc.,the residents may no longer be able to attend school,go to job training,or be
gainfully employed,and this would be a detriment to the development,as well as the community.

RENEWAL OF LEASE
THIS SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT made and entered into this 1st day
of MAY 1 , 1928, by and between the HOUSING AUTHORITY OF
THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, hereinafter referred to as the"Authority",
and BAYO VISTA CHILD AND FAMILY CENTER INC hereinafter to be
referred to as the "Agency":
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, by lease agreement between the parties hereto,dated
APRIL 1, 1992 , the Authority leased to Agency the right and
privilege of occupying space in the BAYO VISTA HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
(Auditorium& Kitchen) #2 California Street, Rodeo, CA of the Authority;and
WHEREAS, the Agency desires and the Authority is willing that such
lease be renewed for the term of one (1) year.
NOW,THEREFORE, the Authority for and in consideration of the
promises and covenants in the aforesaid lease,and other valuable consideration,
the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hereby agrees that said lease shall
be,and it hereby is, renewed beginning JUNE 1, 1998 through MAY 31. 1999.
The Agency hereby covenants and agrees that during the course of the
renewal period the Agency shall perform and be bound by all of the covenants
and conditions contained in said lease agreement of APRIL 1, 1992 I
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have set their hands the day and
year first hereinabove set forth.
