FISCAL TNPACT: This Contract is funded loot by State funds Approval of this Contract will result in a cumulative twelve-month total in excess of $25,000, therefore, Board of Supervisors approval is required. BACICGROUNDIREASON(8) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On December 9, 1997, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #22-624 .2 with Nicholas Carr for the period from December 1, 1997 through May 31, 1998 to provide consultation and technical assistance to the Department with regard to the Bicycle Head Injury Prevention Project. Approval. of Contract #22-524-3 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through May 31, 1999. By: Ginger Marieiro, Contracts Administrator Contra DATE: June 11, 1998 Costa County SU13JECT: Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #23-162-5 with TMP Worldwide SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECORMENDED ACTION Approve and authorize the Health Services Director to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #23-162-5 with TMP Worldwide (formerly: Garcia Advertising & Communications) , effective June 30, 1998, to amend Contract #23-162-4, to increase the contract payment limit by $20, 000, from $175, 000 to a new total payment limit of $195, 000, and to extend the term of Contract through August 31, 1998 . FISCAL IMPACT: The Contract is included in the Health Services Department ' s budget. BACKGROIAM/RNMON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATIONS : On June 17, 1997, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-162-4 with TMP Worldwide (formerly: Garcia Advertising & Communications) , for the period from July 1, 1.997 through June 30, 1998, to provide advertising services for recruitment of qualified individuals for the Health Services Department Is vacant positions, particularly in the area of direct patient care. The Department is currently going through a competitive bid process for advertising services and it is anticipated that a vendor will be selected by September 1, 1998 . Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #23-162-5 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services to the Department through August 31, 1998 . CONTINUED ON ATTACHMENT. RECg MMER AC IM: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Milt Camhi) , to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #27-110-1 with Sutter-Delta Medical Center, for the period from February 1, 1997 through November 30, 1998 . Contractor will be paid in accordance with the rates set forth in the agreement, for the provision of professional health care services for the Centra Costa Health Plan. II. FIR MC1AL IMPACT: This Contract is funded by Contra Costa Health Plan member premiums. Costs depend upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services. III. REASONS FQR RECOMENDATIONSLBACKGROUND: The Health Plan, as the local initiative for Medi-Cal managed care in Contra Costa County, is required under the terms of its contract with the State, to develop a network of community physicians who are traditional providers of medical care to Medd-Cal, beneficiaries in Contra Costa County. This contract will allow patients who are assigned to primary care physicians in East County to receive medical-surgical, obstetric and emergency room services at the hospital where their physician has privileges.
