MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in industrial engineering, chemistry, a physical or biological science, or in a curriculum recognized as being qualifying toward certification by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. Experience: Five years of FULL TIME OR EQUIVILENT professional or technical experience in hygiene A HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM to include identifying, evaluating, and controlling health hazards in the community, AT LEAST TWO of which =two- years must HAVE beEN in ##e A ssupervis4-e4ORY CAPACITY. e Substitution : EITHER (1) POSSESSION OF A master's degree in occupa- tional health, industrial hygiene, eAemistry or A closely related FIELD from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required NON-SUPERVISORY experience OR (2) EXPERIENCE AS A HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SPECIALIST OR OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST WITH CONTRA COSTA COUNTY THAT INCLUDED SOME LEAD OR PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR THE REQUIRED SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE.
