MATT KHATEMI AS HOSPITALITY !
EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Matt Khatemi serves as Banquet Captain at the Lafayette Park Hotel with ten years
experience as an employee there; and
WHEREAS,Matt Kahtemi brings to his work exceptional talent and commitment far beyond what
is required. Matt is known for adages such as"before a problem comes to you, go to the problem and
solve it"; and
WHEREAS, Matt Khatemi immigrated to the United States, after surviving political repression in
his native country of Iran. Matt brought with him his sharp mind, compassionate soul, and an ageless
wisdom; and
WHEREAS, Matt Katemi provides excellent service, even in the most demanding situations,
astonishing guests with his ability to turn meeting space into banquet space within minutes. The hotel
has received over 2,000 written comments over the past ten years from guests impressed by Matt's
extraordinary abilities; and
WHEREAS, Matt Khatemi was recently named the Hospitality Employee of the Year by the
California Department of Tourism. Governor 'Wilson at the Governor's Dinner honored Matt on
January 29, 1998.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Centra Costa County
does hereby commend and honor
PASSED by vote of the .Board of Supervisors members present on this 21 sr day of April, 1998.
