Project No. 7521-6D8466-96, CP # 96-64. DATE: April 21, 1998 PACE: 2 II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The estimated contract cost of the project is $302,000, funded by City of;Brentwood Loan (90%), Flood Control Zone 1 Funds (10 %). In an effort to help the District provide adequate flood protection in their jurisdiction, the City of Brentwood has provided the District with a loan to cover 90% of the total project cost. Monies will be repaid from future Flood Control Zone 1 revenues. III. REASONS FOR RECt3IV MENDATIONIBACKCRQUND: The project is needed to increase capacity in the channel and eliminate the restriction at the Dainty Avenue culvert crossing. The Chief Engineer has filed with the Board of Supervisors the Plans and Specifications for the project. The general prevailing rates of wages, which shall be the minimum rates paid on this project, have been filed with the Clerk of the Board and copies will be made available to any interested party upon request. The Board reviewed and approved the Addendum to the Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR), CP# 96-64. A Notice of Determination was filed with the County Clerk on December 18, 1996. IV. CONSF=QUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If the project is not approved for advertising, it will not be constructed . TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS FROM: J. Authorize Use of Buchanan Field Airport "Wings & Things" Air & Recreational Show on Father's Day, June 21, 1998 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND ANIS JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: REQUEST the Board of Supervisor's authorization for the Manager of Airports to approve the Concord Chamber of Commerce's request to utilize Buchanan Field Airport for the "Wings & Things" Air & Recreational Show on Father's Day, June 21, 1998. It. Financial impact: Estimated costs of$5,000 to be paid by the Airport Enterprise Fund. '�' Deputy Public Works rks DDirector Concord Chamber of Commerce A SUBJECT: Authorize Use of Buchanan Field Airport "Wings & Things" Air & Recreational Show on Father's Day, June 21, 1998 DATE: April 21, 1998 PAGE Two III, Reasons for Recommendations and Backeround: The Concord Chamber of Commerce, with oversight by the County Airport staff, wishes to utilize the Airport for an air and recreational show to be held on Father's Day, June 121, 1998. The Chamber organized and presented this event last year, and this year's event will be similar in format: the air show will remain the primary focus of the event along with additional attractions including: 1) an historic automobile race (Buchanan Field hosted such an event in 1955), 2) exhibits and demonstrations by local businesses (which may include automobiles, motor homes, motorcycles, and boats); and 3) booths by local restaurants providing food and refreshments. The event will be from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. As happened last year, the Concord Chamber will collect an admission charge of five dollars. In addition, there will be charges at the various food vendor booths. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: The 1998 Air Show will be canceled.
