SF-468 AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION. SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: ADOPT Resolution No.4009 approving Section 8 Rental Certificate and Rental Voucher Program Annual Contributions Contract No. SF-468,as amended,and AUTHORIZING execution by the Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa. IL FINANCIAL IMPACT: Section 8 voucher replacement contract authority and budget authority in the amount of$421,385 has been obligated for increment number CA011 CE0050. This new funding increment of Family Unification certificates is to provide rental assistance to families whose lack of adequate housing is a primary factor in the separation,or imminent separation of children from their families. The term is for one year beginning July 1, 1997. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND The Housing Authority has received notification from the U.S.Department of Housing and Urban Development(HUD) that Section 8 voucher amendment funds have been reserved for increment number CA011 CE0050. This funding is for a one- year term. To secure these funds for the Section 8 Program,it will be necessary for the Board of Commissioners to adopt Resolution No.4009. IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Should the Board of Commissioners elect not to adopt Resolution No.4009,the Housing Authority would lose this reserved funding.
