SUBJECT: Approval of Contract #26-834-17 with Respiratory Medical Group, Inc
SPECIFIC REQUESTS) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee,
(Frank Puglisi, Jr. ) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-834-17 with Respiratory Medical Group, Inc. (specialty: Internal
Medicine) , for the period July 1, 1997 through June 30, 1998, to be
paid as follows:
42 .80 per hour, for consultation and training.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As appropriate, patients
and/or third party payors will be billed for services.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical and
Dental Specialists to provide specialized professional services which
are not otherwise available in its hospital and health centers.
On September 17, 1996, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-
834-16 with Respiratory Medical Group, Inc. for the period from July
1, 1996 through June 30, 1997 .
Approval of Contract #26-834-17 will allow Respiratory Medical Group,
Inc. to continue providing Internal Medicine Services for Merrithew
Memorial Hospital and Health Centers through June 30, 1998.
