THIS CONCERNS the WEED ABATEMENT STANDARDS of CCC The Abatement Standards are, in concept, Idealistic. A common sense look reveals many obvious flaws of the CCC Fire District's Guide Lines. Where is our protection from the CCC FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT? The Fire District lacks any self-regulation. This absurdly worded CCC Fire District demand devalues my property as a de facto, excessive taxation. The latest upward revision shows that ten acres must be continually abated when ever a growth exceed three inches in height. Every property owner now has to keep their parcels virtually looking like fair-ways or putting-greens. This is nonsense. The Supervisors of Contra Costa should have a"fire clearance" sale of those in the Fire District over just this one issue. This excessive mowing and disking is the basis for major erosion on many hill-side properties. A 'fire brake" is more appropriate on, say, one-half acre or more. These needed 'fire- brakes"are certainly the appropriate mowing or disking for any parcel over one acre. This is absolutely true for a ten acre parcel. Once a Year disking or mowing fire breaks is the correct and the appropriate guide line and standard. These CCC Flre District has re-defined the word "WEEDS." These"WEEDS" are really the environmentally correct species of plants that are needed for erosion control and protection of animals species. For free, a mentally challenged, retarded adult would measure a blade of grass three inches tall and perhaps call it a weed and then destroy it. This is what the CCC Fire District does, for a high fee... . The concept and virtue of Proposition Thirteen has been mowed-down and disked into the ground by the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors. One of their bludgeons to bury Prop. 13, is the "Childish Mentality"of the CCC Fire District. Is the CCC Fire District the only CCC CLUB? There should be many others... .
