RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Art Lathrop) , to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #23-187-4, with The Abaris Group, effective April 15, 1997, to increase the Contract Payment Limit by $21,852, from $31, 140 to a new total of $52 , 992 and to extend the term of the agreement through August 31, 1997 . II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by the State Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Authority. No County funds are required. III. BACKGROUND: On September 24, 1996, the Board of Supervisors approved Standard Contract #23-187-3 with The Abaris Group, for the period from September 1, 1996 through June 30, 1997, to implement two model programs and provide initial model evaluation services during the second year of the Poison Control Alternatives Project. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #23-187-4 will extend the Contract and increase the payment limit, allowing the Contractor to continue providing services through August 31, 1997.
