Bragdon County Director of Community Development DATE: July 16, 1996 SUBJECT: California Street Frontage Improvements - Rodeo Redevelopment Project Area SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVE First Amendment to Contract between the Public Works Department and the Contra Costa County Redevelopment Agency for the California Street sidewalk project; and AUTHORIZE the Director of Public Works to execute said First Amendment to Contract. FISCAL IMPACT No General Funds are involved. The First Amendment provides an additional $35,000 of Redevelopment Agency tax increments (capital project funds) for this project. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS The Agency has previously approved a $60,000 contract with the Contra Costa County Public Works Department for California Street frontage improvements in the vicinity of Hillcrest School. In addition, the Agency has secured a $35,000 award of Community Development Block Grant funds for this project. The Public Works Department was to be contributing $19,500 of its own funds to this project for preliminary engineering and design. A staff recommendation to reprogram additional Redevelopment Agency capital funds available in the 1995-96 budget for the Rodeo Redevelopment Project was unanimously approved by the Rodeo Redevelopment Advisory Committee on May 1, 1996. This contract amendment accomplishes the additional funding.
