TO: Beui��D 17, SUPERVISORS yE L Contra John u en, ,!rector � ,G FROM: Social Service Department r3-oqt _. j Costa May 10, 1996 County .;�. - ..art DATE: SUBJECT: Approve& Authorize the Director, Office on Aging(AAA) to Sign California Department of Aging's (CDA) Standard Amendment Agreement#2 (County 929-002-99) (State# 07 95-96) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION L RECOMMENDED ACTION AUTHORIZE the Director, Office on Aging or his designee to EXECUTE FY 1995-96 title III Standard Agreement Amendment#2 in the amount of$2,139,502, a reduction of $67,335 in Federal and State Revenue. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT The reduction in Federal and State revenue will not result in a reduction of services to seniors or a reduction in AAA staff, because the revenue is restored in CDA Amendment #3 forthcoming. III. BACKGROUND The CDA Amendment #2 was predicated on current statute and on the basis that there was no current federal budget allocation for Older Americans Act funds, and the Federal Funds received by the State of California under the continuing resolutions passed by Congress were less than those received under the previous Federal Budget Act. Therefore, the California counties' allocations were less. Since that time the budget has been adopted and signed for FY 95-96 and funding restored in CDA Amendment #3.
