IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the County Clerk is
AUTHORIZED to consolidate the elections of the City of Clayton
and the Ambrose Recreation and Park District with the Statewide
General Election on November 5, 1996, as requested by the
respective City Council and Recreation District Board of
Directors.

COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLAYTON REQUESTING THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO PERMIT THE COUNTY CLERK TO RENDER SPECIFIED
SERVICES TO THE CITY IN CONDUCTING THE NOVEMBER 1996 MUNICIPAL
ELECTION. This Resolution was adopted at the June 4, 1996, meeting
of the City Council.

RESOLUTION 22-96
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLAYTON REQUESTING
THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO PERMIT THE COUNTY
CLERK TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO THE CITY IN CONDUCTING THE
NOVEMBER 1996 MUNICIPAL ELECTION.
WHEREAS, Election Code Section 22003 provides that a city
council may adopt a resolution requesting the board of supervisors
of a county to permit the county clerk to render specified services
to the city relating to the conduct of a municipal election, and
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that it would be more
efficient for the County Election Department to handle most of the
steps relating to the November 1996 municipal election,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Clayton, that the Contra Costa County Board of
Supervisors is hereby requested to permit the County Clerk and the
County Election Department to render services relating to the
conduct of the November 1996 municipal election in the City of
Clayton, which services will be determined by the City and the
County Election Department.
The City Clerk and/or the County Registrar are authorized
to publish all legal notices prepared by the County Election
Department pertaining to the municipal election.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the candidate for the
November 1996 election will pay the full cost of his/her
"Candidate ' s Statement" which will be limited to 200 words . A
deposit will not be required.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this
resolution should be sent forthwith to the Clerk of the Contra
Costa County Board of Supervisors and to Ms . Barbara Lee of the
County Election Department.

regular meeting of said Council held on June 4, 1996, by the

RESOLUTION #5-2-96
Before the Board of directors of the Ambrose Recreation and Park District (a
political subdivision) Contra Costa County, California
RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION
WHEREAS, an election will be held within the Ambrose Recreation and Park
District on November 5, 1996 for the purpose of election of two (2) members to the
District Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, a Statewide General Election will be held within the County of Contra
Costa on the same day;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Ambrose Recreation and Park
District hereby requests that the General District Election in this District on November 5,
1996 for the election of two (2) members to the District Board of Directors be
consolidated with the Statewide General Election to be held in this county on the same
day.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa
County is hereby authorized and instructed to canvass the returns of the election held in
this District for the election of members to the District Board of Directors and that a
Statement of Results be mailed to this District as soon as the results of the canvass are
determined.
