HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06251996 - C104 d 'o toy t Contra TO: REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY •j/j Costa FROM: Phil Batchelor .uM�s County Executive Director DATE: June 25, 1996 SUBJECT: Light Industrial Feasibility Study - Oakley Redevelopment Project Area SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Deputy Director-Redevelopment to sign a contract with Applied Development Economics for the preparation of a Light Industrial Feasiblity Study for the light industrial designated portion of the Oakley Redevelopment Project area. FISCAL IMPACT No General Fund money will be used on this project. The total contract amount is $49780 and will be financed from the Oakley Redevelopment Project Area as shown on the adopted Fiscal Year 1995-96 budget. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS A major goal of the Oakley Redevelopment Plan is to facilitate economic development, stimulate and attract private investment, and create employment opportunities for area residents in the Project Area. The Light Industrial Feasibility Study has been proposed as a first crucial step in promoting economic development and revitalizing the industrial area from Neroly Road to property east of Live Oak Avenue and from Main Street to Oakley Road. The Oakley Municipal Advisory Council (OMAC) recommended proceeding with this study at their June 10, 1996 meeting.
