RECOMMENDATION:
APPOINT to the Loan and Grant Review Panel to replace Bernie Bautista for the
balance of an unexpired term ending December 31, 1997:

BACKGROUND:
The Loan and Grant Review Panel is a 5-member body which evaluates and
approves housing rehabilitation grants and loans upon the recommendation of the
Building Inspection Department. There are currently two vacancies on the Panel.
On February 13, 1996, the Board of Supervisors authorized staff to recruit for
replacements for these two vacant seats and to return their recommendations to your
Committee. Staff is now recommending the appointment of Ms. Ferguson to replace
Mr. Bautista, who has asked not to be reappointed. Our Committee agrees with this
recommendation.
