IN RECOGNITION OF ] SANDRA LINEKER ] SAN RAMON'S RETAILER ] RESOLUTION NO.96/ 249 OF THE YEAR, 1996 Whereas Sandra Lineker is active in the community and has served on the board of the Children's Home Society and is a member of the San Ramon Valley Rotary, a San Ramon Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and Chair of the 1995 benefit dance for the California High School Athletic Boosters; and Whereas Sandra Lineker has been a major sponsor and judge of the Student Art for Education, and a major sponsor of the San Ramon Valley Discovery Center's Celebrate the Valley; and Whereas Sandra Lineker, owner of PrintMasters of San Ramon, has used her experience as a successful small business owner to advise other businesses and help them succeed; and Whereas Sandra Lineker is known for creating enthusiasm in other people and making every job look like fun. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County congratulates Sandra Linker for being named Retailer of the Year by the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce. Realtors, Women in Real Estate,the Danville and San Ramon Chambers of Commerce. She has also served as an advisory member on the San Ramon Redevelopment Agency and on the steering for Shepherds Gate; and Whereas Phyllis Nagle has made a significant contribution to the economic vitality of the San Ramon community; and Whereas Phyllis Nagle serves as a role model for other business owners. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County congratulates PHYLLIS NAGLE for being named Business Person of the Year by the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce. C. zq Board of Supervisors Of Contra Costa County, State of California IN RECOGNITION OF ] BETH SIMPSON ] SAN RAMON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ] RESOLUTION NO.961 252 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR, 1996 ] Whereas Beth Simpson is a dedicated person who cares about the community and is involved in community and civic programs that have short and long-term implications for the San Ramon Valley; and Whereas Beth Simpson engages young students in projects, identifies opportunities for seniors, and educates and informs the business community on policy; and Whereas Beth Simpson creates coalitions to bring strength to her ideas and to confirm that the effort is one that will benefit the overall community; and Whereas Beth Simpson is a member and past president of Soroptimist, a past member of the Board of Directors of the San Ramon Valley Chamber of Commerce, and a graduate and director of Leadership San Ramon Valley; and Whereas Beth Simpson has encouraged graduating classes of the Leadership program to adopt projects designed to benefit the community; and Whereas Beth Simpson has contributed volunteer time and made financial contributions in support of endeavors that will improve the quality of life in San Ramon. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County congratulates BETH SIMPSON for being named Citizen of the Year by the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce. PHIL BATCHELOR, Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and County Administrator DEPUTY Lo K Board of Supervisors Of Contra Costa County, State of California IN RECOGNITION OF ] BETTY DETWEILER ] SAN RAMON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ] RESOLUTION NO. 961253 EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR, 1996 ] Whereas Betty Detweiler taught school for 33 years and set up the original remedial reading program for the Murray School District, now known as Dublin Unified;and Whereas Betty Detweiler_is active in the community as a member of the San Ramon Women's Club, San Ramon Women's Christian Club and San Ramon Republican Women; and Whereas Betty Detweiler teaches reading skills to children through the San Ramon Senior Scholar Program. and also holds classes for other tutors to make teaching fun for teacher and student; and Whereas Betty Detweiler has taken the Senior Scholar Program to its current success;and Whereas Betty Detweiler has made significant personal and professional contributions to the overall well being of our youth as a leader,educator and mentor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County congratulates BETTY DETWEILER for being named Educator of the Year by the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce.
