MICHAEL WALFORD, CHIEF ENGINEER DATE: June 11, 1996 SUBJECT: Reject Bid Received on May 21, 1996 for the San Ramon Creek Drop Structure No. 7 Project, Danville area, Project No.: 7520-668469-96 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: REJECT the bid received on May 21, 1996 for the San Ramon Creek Drop Structure No. 7 Project and, DIRECT that any bid bond posted-by the bidder is to be exonerated and any checks or cash submitted for security shall be returned. II. Financial Impact: None Ill. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: Rejection of the bid is in the County's best interest, and the Flood Control District recommends the bid be rejected. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 20393, as well as the Notice to Contractors, the Board in its discretion may reject the bid. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: If the bid is not rejected, the bid remains valid for another ten days. This could affect the bidder's ability to bid other work.
