SUBJECT: Reject Bid Received on May 21, 1996 for the San Ramon Creek Drop Structure No. 7
Project, Danville area, Project No.: 7520-668469-96
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
REJECT the bid received on May 21, 1996 for the San Ramon Creek Drop Structure No. 7
Project and,
DIRECT that any bid bond posted-by the bidder is to be exonerated and any checks or cash
submitted for security shall be returned.
II. Financial Impact:
None
Ill. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
Rejection of the bid is in the County's best interest, and the Flood Control District recommends
the bid be rejected. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 20393, as well as the Notice to
Contractors, the Board in its discretion may reject the bid.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
If the bid is not rejected, the bid remains valid for another ten days. This could affect the bidder's
ability to bid other work.

2. Parties. The County of Contra Costa, California (County), for its Department named above, and
the following named Contractor mutually agree and promise as follows:

3. Amendment Date. The effective date of this Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement is
May 1, 1996.
4. Amendment Specifications. The Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement is "Amendment
Specifications" attached hereto which are incorporated herein by reference.
5. Extension of Term. The term of the above described Contract between the parties hereto is
hereby extended from May 1, 1996, to August 31, 1996, unless sooner terminated as provided in
said contract.
6. Payment Limit Increase. The payment limit of the above described Contract between the parties
hereto is hereby increased by $8,328.00, from $37,492.00 to a new total Contract Payment Limit of
$45,820.00.
