SUBJECT: Report From The County Administrator On The Status Of
Discussions With The U.S . Department of Energy Regarding
The Proposal To Transport Nuclear Fuel Rods Through The
Concord Naval Weapons Station.
On this date the Board of Supervisors heard an oral report
from County Administrator, Phil Batchelor, on the status of
discussions with the U. S. Department of Energy regarding the
proposal to transport nuclear fuel rods through the Concord Naval
Weapons Station.
Mr. Batchelor indicated that he had conveyed to the
Department of Energy the County' s opposition to this proposal .
Anthony Enea, County Administrator' s Office, presented a
brief overview of the impacts and mitigation measures being
discussed, and on the results of the three meetings on this
proposal .
David Heisinga, Deputy Assistant Secretary, U. S. Department
of Energy, read a statement relative to the discussions between
the Department of Energy and the County.
The Board discussed the matter.
