IN THE MATTER OF HONORING ] RESOLUTION NO. 96/191
JAMES J. SWEENY AS THE 1996 ]
MORAGA CITIZEN OF THE YEAR ]
WHEREAS, JAMES J. SWEENY has been a long standing resident of the town of
Moraga for the past 25 years with his wife, Jane, and their two daughters; and,
WHEREAS, JAMES J. SWEENY has been a dedicated community member serving
on numerous boards including: Director for Goodwill Industries, the Hearst Art Gallery
Advisory Board, a past president and member of the Moraga Kiwanis Club, and the
Moraga Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, JAMES J. SWEENY is active in the leadership of Moraga, currently as a
member of the Moraga Town Council, and having served as mayor twice during his terms.
He was also on the Moraga Parrs and Recreation Foundation and has served on two
countywide garbage and transportation authorities; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra
Costa County does honor, recognize and commend
JAMES J. SWEENY
for his dedicated , resourceful and committed leadership on behalf of the town of Moraga.
PASSED by vote of the Board members present on this 7th day of May, 1996.
