SUBJECT: Approval of Amendment to the Fiscal Agent Agreements #28-528-7 and #28-528-8 with the
County of Alameda
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
A. Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, to execute on behalf
of the County, Amendment to Fiscal Agent Agreement #28-528-7 with the
County of Alameda, effective July 1, 1995, to increase the contract
payment limit by $27 ,650, from $471,292 to a new total of $498,942, for
continued coordination of services to Contra Costa County residents with
HIV Disease and their families.
B. Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, to execute on behalf
of the County, Fiscal Agent Agreement #28-528-8 with the County of
Alameda, for the period from February 1, 1996 through June 30, 1996,
allocating funds not to exceed $249,688, for continued coordination of
Services to Contra Costa County residents with HIV Disease and their
families.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Approval of Amendment #28-528-7 will increase the total Ryan White CARE Act,
Title I funds received from the County of Alameda for the period from July 1,
1995 through January 31, 1996, by $27,650, for a new contract total of
$498,942. Approval of Agreement #28-528-8 will allocate 27.17% of the total
Ryan White CARE Act, Title I funds received by the County of Alameda, to Contra
Costa County for the period from February 1, 1996 through June 30, 1996. No
County match is required.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has designated the County of
Alameda as "Grantee" for the purpose of administering the Ryan White CARE Act,
Title I funds to those public health agencies which have a cumulative total of
2,000 (or more) people with HIV Disease.
Approval of these agreements will allow the Department to continue to provide
coordination of essential services to Contra Costa County residents with HIV
Disease and their families through June 30, 1996.
Three certified/sealed copies of this Board Order should be returned to the
Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to the County of Alameda.
