SUBJECT: Amendment to Contract for Legal Services - FY 1995-96
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Executive Director or his designee to execute an amendment
to the contract between the Redevelopment Agency and Goldfarb & Lipman for legal
consulting services to the Contra Costa County Redevelopment Agency for Fiscal Year 1995-
96. The amendment would increase the contract amount by $15,000 to a total of$65,000.
FISCAL IMPACT
Contract is billed on a time and materials basis not to exceed $65,000 for Fiscal Year 1995-
96. The Agency has budgeted sufficient funds to cover such costs. No General Funds are
involved.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
Goldfarb & Lipman has been retained as Redevelopment Agency Legal Counsel. Services
provided include: (a) Administration and implementation of existing redevelopment plans for
Pleasant Hill BART, Bay Point, North Richmond, Oakley, and Rodeo Project Areas; and (b)
other matters as may be requested by the Agency, including general administration and
Agency operations. This amendment is required due to unanticipated legal costs related to
the BART Development Agreement, the Southern Pacific toxic remediation litigation, and Area
4 Disposition and Development Agreement matters at Pleasant Hill BART.
