EEI�OE® FMR-2 21996TO: CHAIRPERSON, COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES CLED OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY AGRICULTURAL COMMISSIONER cosrA The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has granted a Secretarial disaster designation for San Joaquin County due to losses caused by unseasonable storms on May 17-18, 1995. As a result, the USDA Farm Services Agency (FSA) has been authorized to provide emergency physical and production loss loans to eligible applicants in the following counties: USDA Primary Disaster Area - San Joaquin Eligible Contiguous Counties - Alameda Contra Costa Stanislaus Amador Sacramento Calaveras Santa Clara In accordance with the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act, these loans can only be made available to applicants who conduct family sized farming operations. In addition, loan awards cannot exceed $ 500,000 per eligible applicant and for each disaster. The repayment interest rate for these loans will be 3.75% and the loan approval decision will take into account extent of loss, available security, repayment ability as well as other eligibility criteria. Applications will accepted through September 25, 1996. The Governor's.Office of Emergency Services would appreciate your assistance in distributing this information to potential applicants throughout your county.
