SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner, M.D. ) , to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #22-536-1 with Laboratory Medicine services, Inc. , effective March 15, 1996, to increase the payment limit by $12, 500 from $24, 500 to a new Contract Payment Limit of $37, 000. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded by State funds. , No County funds are required. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: In April 1995, the County Administrator's Office approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #22-536 with , Laboratory Medicine Services, Inc. , for the period from April 1, 1995 through June 30, 1996, for provision of Laboratory Assistant and Phlebotomist Registry Services. The increase in the payment limit is due to increases in HIV/AIDS and/or STD testing for high-risk individuals throughout the County. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #22-536-1 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 1996.
