Westman, County Counsel 4 DATE: April 16, 1996 SUBJECT: Rodeo Municipal Advisory Council (RMAC) Membership SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RESOLUTION NO. 96/ 162 RECOMMENDATIONS 1. Ratify that the Rodeo Municipal Advisory Council (RMAC) shall continue with seven appointed Rodeo community residents. 2. Recognize that further consideration will be given to the RMAC membership and its continuance on or shortly before June 1, 1998 pursuant to section 10 of Resolution 94/94 establishing the RMAC. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS The Rodeo Municipal Advisory Council was created on February 15, 1994 by Board of Supervisors' adopted Resolution No. 94/94. Section 2, entitled "Membership," of Resolution No. 94/94 provides that the Council shall consist of seven members who are Rodeo residents and appointed by the Board of Supervisors upon the recommendation of the District II Supervisor. Section 10 of Resolution No. 94/94 provides that the Council shall dissolved on June 1, 1998 unless the Board of Supervisors has on or before that date extended the Council's existence. District II x Abe continued to be selected. After a number of meetings and consideration of this subject, the Rodeo Municipal Advisory Counsel (RMAC) has asked that its current seven positions be continued as they are presently appointed. In accordance with the Board of Supervisors' adopted Resolution No. 94/94 and the above-noted community participation, it is recommended that the Board ratify that RMAC shall continue with seven Rodeo community residents nominated for Board of Supervisors' appointment by the District II Supervisor. It is further recommended that it be recognized that Section 10 of Resolution 94/94 requires further consideration of the RMAC membership and its continuance on or shortly before June 1, 1998.
