By examining the Ralph Santiago Aboscol composition of boards and commissions responsible for land-use, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR-- transportation, and water planning in all nine Bay Area counties, this Guillermo Rodriguez,Jr. report seeks to identify Latino representation as well as the implications of these findings. This report hopes to provide a benchmark for the current and future Latino leadership to assess civic involvement and leadership on these boards. It is not meant to condemn the work of the commissioners or advocate for representation based on surname only. It is the hope that both Latinos and non-Latinos share the responsibility to include all communities in the planning and preparation for the million new inhabitants of the bay area. 7R.9 Me.rkw Ss.:.i Thpre-t rick .-- • :,nn rrnne:: ro - (-a;l&wnse. - 9410.1-20003 Phor— AI S) 264 722Q - rpuaiirril*,(moi 15) 284-7222 MAR 11 '96 13:13 LATINO ISSUES FORUM P.2 For the county of Contra Costa, we examined the commissions and boards of the following agencies: Contra Costa County Number of Latino Commissioners Commissioners Planning Contra Costa County Planning Commission 7 0 East County Regional Planning Commission 7 2 San Ramon Valloy Regional Planning 7 1 Commission Transportation Contra Costa Trans ortatlon Authori 10 0 Central Contra Costa Transit Authority / i 1 Tri Delta Transit 9 3 Water Contra Costa County Water 5 0 We would greatly appreciate the confirmation or the correction of these findings.
