Carlson SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Chuck Deutschman) , to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24-687-4, effective March 1, 1996, to amend Standard Contract #24-687-3 with Edward C. Carlson, (effective July 1, 1995 through. June 30, 1996) to increase the Contract Payment Limit by $5, 339, from $55, 390 to a new total of $60, 729 . II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: This contract is funded 100% by State and Federal funds. No County match is required. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: On December 5, 1995, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24-687-3 with Edward C. Carlson, for the provision of consultation and technical assistance to the Department with regard to substance abuse treatment services for California Department of Corrections-approved parolees, referred to as the BASN Project, and the Criminal Justice Treatment Program. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-687-4 will allow the Contractor to provide additional consultation services required to implement the Department's Substance Abuse Management Information System.
