SUBJECT: Approval of Standard Contract #22-428-3 with AIDS Community
Network
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee
(Wendel Brunner, M.D. ) , to execute on behalf of the County, Standard
Contract #22-428-3 with AIDS Community Network, for the period from
July 1, 1995 through March 31, 1996, in the amount of $38,850, to
provide HIV support services at Tranquillium Center for persons with
HIV Disease and their families.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This contract is funded 100% by Federal funds from the Ryan White CARE
Act, Title I, Supplemental Grant, through an intergovernmental
agreement with Alameda County, who is the Grantee of these funds. No
County match is required.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
On June 21, 1994, the Board of Supervisors approved Standard Contract
#22-428-2 with AIDS Community Network, effective July 1, 1994 through
June 30, 1995, to provide coordination of volunteer services, risk
reduction education and benefits counseling, at its Tranquillium
Center, to persons with HIV Disease and their families.
Approval of Standard Contract #22-428-3 will continue the Contractor's
services through March 31, 1996.
