This project provides intensive, family centered, home-based services geared toward strengthening families and preventing placements outside the home. The program is highly successful. In the last two years the program has helped 75% of the children remain with their families and thereby avoided more costly and less affective placement outside the home. These contractors provide either family support services or intensive, in-home, family-based support services under the Family Preservation Project and have done so for several years.
