Danville, CA 94526 ; James J. Martin, Superintendent, Lafayette
School District, 3477 School Street, Lafayette, CA 94549; Frank
J. Hengel, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Oakley Union
Elementary School District; and Bev Nicolaisen, Administrative
Assistant, Byron Union School District, 14401 Byron Highway,
Byron, CA 94514-9251, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the County
Clerk is AUTHORIZED to consolidate the elections of the San Ramon
Valley Unified School District, the Lafayette School District,
the Oakley Union Elementary School District and the Byron Union
School District with the November 7, 1995, Consolidated Election.

Dear Ms. Maglio:
Attached to this letter, please find two required documents pertinent to the request
of the Board of Education to hold a special election for facilities improvements on
November 7, 1995.
The first of these documents is Revised Resolution No. 114/94-95, Ordering School
Bond Election,Setting Forth the Specifications Thereof and Requesting Consolidation
With Other Elections. This resolution is accompanied by the certification of the Clerk
of the Board verifying its authenticity.
Additionally, you will find the Formal Notice of School Bond Election which requires
execution by the County Superintendent of Schools for the calling of an election
pursuant to our Resolution.
Accordingly, I am also delivering a copy of this request to the County Superintendent
of Schools and the County Clerk.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me. This initial
notification must be made by July 7, 1995.

FORMAL NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOND
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the qualified electors of the,San Ramon
Valley Unified School District of Contra Costa County, California, that in
accordance with the provisions of the Education Code of the State of
California an elections will be held on November 7, 1995, at which election
the following proposition shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the
District and voted upon:
"In order to improve educational opportunities, shall the San Ramon Valley
Unified School District construct, improve and renovate classrooms and
school facilities to accommodate increased enrollment; provide for safety and
seismic upgrades; replace roofs, plumbing, sewer, lighting and electrical
systems, where needed; acquire property; renovate classrooms, including out-
dated science laboratories and inadequate libraries,,;by issuing bonds in the
amount of$82 million with an interest rate not to exceed nine percent per
annum".
All of the purposes enumerated in the foregoing proposition shall be
united and voted upon as one single proposition. Said bonds proposed to be
issued and sold shall bear interest at a rate not to exceed nine percent per
annum permitted by law, payable at the time or times permitted by law, and
the number of years the whole or any part of the bonds are to run shall not
exceed 25 years from the date of the bonds or the date of any series thereof.
By execution of this formal Notice of School Board Election the County
Superintendent of Schools of Contra Costa County orders consolidation of the
election with such other elections as may be held on the same day in the
same territory or in territory that is in part the same.
The County Superintendent of Schools, by this Notice of Election, has
tailed the election pursuant to a Resolution of the Governing Board of the
San Ramon Valley Unified School District, adopted June 30, 1995, in
accordance with the provisions of Education Code Sections 5302, 5322, 5361,
15100 and 15120.

REVISED RESOLUTION NO. 114/94-95
RESOLUTION ORDERING SCHOOL BOND ELECTION, SETTING
FORTH.THE SPECIFICATIONS THEREOF AND REQUESTING
CONSOLIDATION WITH OTHER ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, the Governing Board (the "Board") of the San Ramon
Valley Unified School District (the "District") is generally authorized to order
elections within the District and to designate the specifications thereof,
pursuant to Education Code Sections 5304 and 5322; and
WHEREAS, the Board is specifically authorized to order elections for
the purpose of submitting to the electors the question of whether bonds of the
District shall be issued and sold for the purpose of raising money for the
purposes hereinafter specified, pursuant to Education Code Sections 15100 et
seq.; and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it necessary and advisable to submit a
bond proposition to the electors which, if approved by two-thirds of the votes
cast, would permit the District to issue the bonds; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to rehabilitate and standardize existing
schools and to expand instructional space throughout the San Ramon Valley
Unified School District and because the District intends to address those
needs in all parts of the District; and

WHEREAS, the District intends to address needs known to exist at
Alamo, Neil Armstrong, John Baldwin, Bollinger Canyon, California High,
Charlotte Wood, Country Club, Del Amigo, Walt Disney, Golden View,
Greenbrook, Green Valley, Los Cerros, Montair, Montevideo, Monte Vista,
Pine Valley, Rancho Romero, San Ramon High, Stone Valley, Sycamore
Valley, Twin Creeks, Vista Grande and Venture Schools, and to include
meeting needs for.classroom space at school sites for Tassaja.ra Elementary
School and San Ramon Middle School; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the election to determine whether said
bonds shall be issued and sold be consolidated with such other election or
elections as may be held on the same day in the same territory or in territory
that is in part the same;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE FOLLOWING ORDER OF
ELECTION AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE ELECTION ORDER IS HEREBY
ADOPTED:
Section 1. Pursuant to Education Code Sections 5304, 5322 and
15100 et seq. a special election shall be held within the boundaries of the San
Ramon Valley Unified School District on November 7, 1995, for the purpose
of submitting to the registered voters of the District the following proposition:
"In order to improve educational opportunities, shall the
San Ramon Valley Unified School District construct,
improve and renovate classrooms and school facilities to

accommodate increased enrollment;provide for safety and
seismic upgrades; replace roofs, plumbing, sewer, lighting
and electrical systems, where needed;acquire property;
renovate classrooms, including out-dated science

Section 2. Pursuant to Section 15124 of the Education Code and

the State of California, the above proposition shall become effective only
upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of those electors voting on the
measure.
Section 3. The foregoing specifications of the Election Order are
made pursuant to Education Code Section 5322, and the County
Superintendent of Schools and the County Clerk of the County of Contra

Costa (the "County") are hereby requested to take all steps to call and hold
the election in accordance with law and these specifications.
Section 4. Pursuant to Education Code Section 15121 and Part 3
(commencing with Section 10400) of Division 10 of the Elections Code, the
County Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Supervisors of the
County are requested to order consolidation of said school bond election with
such other elections as may be held on the same day in the same territory or
in territory that is in part the same.
Section . The Board of Supervisors of the County is.authorized to
canvass the returns of the election pursuant to Section 23306 of the Elections
Code.
Section 6. The Clerk of this District is hereby directed to deliver, no
later than July 7, 1995 (which date is not fewer than 123 days prior to the
date set for the election), two certified copies of this resolution and order to
the County Superintendent of Schools and one certified copy to the County
Clerk, and shall file a certified copy of this resolution and order with the
Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of the County.
Section . The County Superintendent of Schools is hereby
requested to prepare and execute a Formal Notice of School Bond Election
and consolidation order in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit
A (the "Formal Notice"), and to deliver the Formal Notice and a copy of the

resolution and order no later than July 10, 1995 (which date is not fewer
than 120 days prior to the date set for the election), to the County Clerk.
Section 8. The County Superintendent of Schools is hereby
requested to call the election by causing said Formal Notice to be posted in
accordance with Section 5362 of the Education Code no later than August 9,
1995 (which date is not fewer than 90 days prior to the date set for the
election), or to otherwise publish said notice as permitted by law:

The foregoing is a full,.true and correct copy of a resolution duly adopted at a
special meeting of the Governing Board of said District duly and regularly
held at the regular meeting place thereof on the 30th day of June 1995, of
which meeting all of the members of said Governing Board had due notice
and at which a quorum thereof was present; and at said meeting said
resolution was adopted by the following vote:

Specification of the Election Order
WHEREAS Education Code Section 5322 requires that, in the event of any ordered election, a
resolution be delivered to the County Superintendent of Schools and the officer conducting the
election;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lafayette School District Governing Board
ORDERS the Superintendent of Schools of Contra Costa County to call an election. The purpose
of the election is the election of board members. This election is to be held on Tuesday,
November 7, 1995. This election shall be consolidated with other elections scheduled on the
same date.
The Secretary of the Governing Board is hereby authorized and directed to certify the adoption
of this resolution and to transmit certified copies hereof as required to the County Election
Supervisor and the County Superintendent of Schools.

School Board Elections —Regulations and Candidates' Fees
1. Candidates for school district governing board vacancies may submit statements of qualifications for
publication to the Assistant County Registrar. Candidates must pay the cost of publication of their
statements of qualifications in the amount determined by the Assistant County Registrar by
reimbursement to the Lafayette School District.
2. If candidates receive an equal number of votes, the winner will be determined by lot.
