Contra Costa County : : 'r Pittsburg,California 94565-4961 Board of Supervisors ;; - 'a (510)427-8138 DATE' June '14, 1995 TO: Phil Batchelor, County Administrator Mark Finucane, Director- Health Services Pat Godley, Chief Financial Officer- Health Services FROM: Supervisor Tom Torlakson SUBJECT: REGENCY HILLS CONVALESCENT HOME Mary Erbez (City of Pittsburg) called me at home last night and indicated that they are interested in seeing if the County would like to buy or lease and continue to operate the Regency Hills Convalescent Facility. She believes that this could be done at a profit to the County. She has indicated that they do not want to see the facility sold to an `outside" buyer. I indicated that continuity of care was my primary concern, and Mary agreed. I am not clear on whether it would be fiscally feasible for the County to participate. She indicated a sale value for the facility of $3.6 Million and a lease figure of $32,000 per month as an alternative. She also indicated that the latter figure is negotiable, and that she was looking for a "win-win" situation if possible. I agree that it would be a very positive thing if we could come to some type of of agreement that takes care of the patients and is financially feasible. I would like to know your thoughts on this proposal. TT:km b
