Dear Mr. McClelland:
Your letter of May 1, 1995 addressed to the Board of Supervisors
regarding the recordation of liens without first sending a
reminder notice has been referred to our office for reply.
Please be advised that we have modified our computer programs to
accommodate notification to taxpayers prior to the recordation
of tax liens. Although notice is provided with the original tax
billing, we believe this additional process will further remind
taxpayers of their payment oversight avoiding the stigma of a
tax lien which remains on the public records for 10 years.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
Very truly yours,
ALFRED P. LOMELI
