Dear Ms. Bishop
CLERIC BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
CONTRA COSTA CO.
Memorial Day commemorates the deaths of members of the armed forces
who died in military service to their country during the nation' s
various wars .
Those deaths are memorialized by Contra Costa County in the monument
which stands at Contra Costa Boulevard and Boyd Road in Pleasant Hill .
The monument is in need of some internal and external repairs.
Some of the items that need to be repaired may pose a threat to public
safety from falling pieces of concrete.
In the interest of protecting the public from accidential injury
and to recognize the sacrifices made by our fallen comrades in arms,
I request that Contra Costa County assume its responsibilities in
repairing and maintaining the County' s veterans monument in Pleasant Hill .
Raymond P. Laviolette , Commander
Pleasant Hill Post 331
