PROJECT NO.: 4500-6X5041, CDD-CP NO.: 95-27 Specific Request(s)or Recommendation(s)&Background&Justification I. Recommended Action: APPROVE the formation of three (3) landscaping assessment zones (Zones 60, 61 and 62), and FIND that the activity, the formation of the three (3) landscaping zones, will not have a significant effect on the environment, and that it has been determined to be exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under State CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3), and DIRECT the Director of Community Development to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk. II. Financiallmpact: There is no impact on the General Fund. The proposed landscaping assessment district would pay the entire cost of maintaining the landscape improvements. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: Through Conditions of Approval, new subdivision developments are required to install frontage and/or median island landscaping improvements (i.e. trees, shrubs, irrigation equipment). The formation of the three (3) new landscape assessment zones provides the mechanism for collection of assessments, which enables the County to maintain these frontage and/or median island landscape improvements. Assessments may be adjusted periodically for inflation and adjustments are not subject to CEQA.
