Dear Supervisor Bishop:
This year, the East Bay Municipai Utility District (EBMUD) is promoting
increased public recognition of the importance of drinking water by observing
Water Awareness Month in May. One of our principal themes is the need for
water conservation, to which our customers have been extremely responsive.
In addition, we would like the public to know of EBMUD's ongoing.and
expanding work to safeguard the water quality that our customers have come
to expect of us.
To this end, we are requesting your assistance with your endorsement of the
enclosed proclamation or resolution. The language of the proclamation is
offered as a point of departure for whatever you may wish to emphasize in
commemorating this event. If it is agreeable to you, I would like to come
personally to receive the resolution from the board at its meeting on May 2,
1995.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to participate in Water Awareness
Month. If you have any questions, please call Doug Wallace of EBMUD's
Community Affairs Office at 287-0144.
