SUBJECT: Tucker Associates Request for a General Plan Amendment
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
Authorize a General Plan Amendment request study for an
approximately four acre area located east of Danville Boulevard
between Jackson Way and the Stone Valley Shopping Center.
In authorizing this review, staff will proceed with a report on
each request which will then be scheduled for public hearing
before the San Ramon Valley Regional Planning Commission.
Following this the Commission will forward its recommendation to
the Board of Supervisors for a final determination after a public
hearing.
FISCAL IMPACT
A General Plan Amendment fee will be paid to cover the cost of
processing this amendment request.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
Tucker Associates, Inc. have requested the County to initiate a
General Plan review for an approximately four acre area located
in downtown Alamo. The request the site be redesignated a from
Congregate Care to Commercial and smaller residential parcels .
This site was previously considered as part of the controversial
Alamo Villa Congregate Care project. This project, while
approved, was never constructed due to changing financing
prospects . The site remains underutilized and await '
revitalization. This study authorization would a to
