ACCEPT the resignation of Nicolas C. Vaca from the Advisory Council on Equal Employment Opportunity, DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to apply the Board' s policy for filling the vacancy, and REFER the vacancy to the Internal Operations Committee. 2 . AUTHORIZE the Internal Operations Committee to undertake such recruitment, screening and interviewing as it deems necessary - and appropriate and make a subsequent recommendation to the Board of Supervisors for an appointment to fill this vacancy. BACKGROUND: Attached is a letter from Nicolas Vaca resigning from the Advisory Council on Equal Employment Opportunity because of the increased workload in his law practice. In view of his resignation, it is appropriate for the Board to accept Mr. Vaca' s resignation and allow the Internal Operations. Committee to take those steps which are necessary and appropriate to fill the vacancy.
