In response to MTC' s request, the Board of Supervisors, May 10, 1994, appointed Supervisor Gayle Bishop to the Altamont Pass Interregional Transportation Corridor Study Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) . Since that appointment, Supervisor Gayle Bishop has requested that Supervisor Tom Torlakson serve on the PAC to represent the County' s interest in East County on transportation matters . The County' s primary interest in the participation of the Altamont Corridor Study is that to improve transportation conditions in the County from Central Valley commuter and truck traffic, specifically on East Bay destination routes in the areas of Tri-Valley and East County. , The Transportation Committee recommends the appointment of Supervisor Tom Torlakson to the PAC.
