HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05231995 - FPD6 FPD. 6 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this .Order on May 23, 1995_, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Rogers, Smith, DeSaulnier, Torlakson, Bishop NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- SUBJECT: Presentation on Disaster Preparedness Russ Greenlaw, President, United Professional Firefighters, Local 1230, appeared before the Board this day and spoke on the need for disaster preparedness, the role of the Fire Department in assisting at disasters, and the need for training particularly in the event of a nuclear incident. IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the oral report of Mr. Greenlaw is ACCEPTED. On recommendation of Supervisor DeSaulnier, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that Fire District personnel are REQUESTED to comment on the Fire District's preparedness in the event of a nuclear incident at the June 6, 1995, hearing on the U. S. Department of Energy's Spent Nuclear Fuel Project for the Concord Naval Weapons Station.
