HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05231995 - 1.39 1, 35 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on May 23, 1995 by the following vote: AYES: SUPERVISORS ROGERS, SMITH, DESAULNIER, TORLAKSON and BISHOP NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: In the Matter of Updating Previously ) RESOLUTION NO. 95/ 226 Adopted Compensation Resolutions for ) for Management and Unrepresented ) Nursing Classifications for FY 94/95 ) THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVES THAT: The Board of Supervisors having passed Resolution No. 94/051 on January 18, 1994 setting compensation for County Officers, Management and Unrepresented Employees; and The Board of Supervisors having approved a Memorandum of Understanding with California Nurses Association on November 8, 1994 for the twenty-four (24) month period commencing January 1, 1994 through December 31, 1995. Therefore, Resolution No. 94/051 (Compensation for County Officers, Management and Unrepresented Employees) is amended for nursing management classes to maintain established salary relationships as follows: The salaries of the employees whose classification is set below is as shown effective 1/1/95. VBGC California Child Services Program Administrator C5-2343 ($4727-5746) Lump Sum Payment. All persons who occupy a permanent position in the above listed management classification or who are authorized as limited term employees on January 1, 1995, shall be retroactively compensated back to January 1, 1995. In lieu of a retroactive pay requiring special payroll recomputation processing back to January 1, 1995, the County will make a lump sum payment to each employee for the period from January 1, 1995 through April 30, 1995, computed as follows: Employee regular pay, overtime pay, and specific other earnings ordinarily computed as a percentage of base pay will be added together for each applicable pay period to determine the Retro Pay Base (RPB). This base will be multiplied by the designated percent: 1.6% = 16 levels. The payment amount thus computed will be added to the employee's July 10, 1995 paycheck where it will be listed separately as a LUMP SUM PAYMENT and will be subject to normal tax withholding and retirement deduction requirements. Any employee believing there is an underpayment resulting from this methodology exceeding $30.00 may contact the Human Resources.Department and the Auditor's Office will investigate and issue the additional pay, if owed, as soon as possible. All provision regarding lump sum payment in lieu of retroactive pay shall be applicable to any and all employees who retired during the period January 1, 1995 through April 30, 1995. hereby certify that this is a true rind correct copy of cc: Auditor-Controller an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
