RECOMMENDED ACTION
Authorize relief of cash shortage in the County Clerk-Recorder' s
Office as recommended by the County Auditor-Controller, and as
required by Administrative Bulletin 107 . 5.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Relief requested from the General Fund.
REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION
The cash shortage occurred in the Recorder' s office on March 2,
1995 in the amount of $34 . 00. The shortage appears to be do to an
error by a clerical staff member.

We have reviewed the attached request we received March 6, 1995 from the Recorder's Office for relief
of a $34.00 cash shortage that occurred on March 2, 1995. We recommend that relief be granted.

Subject:RELIEF OF CASH SHORTAGE
Please authorize relief of cash shortage of the amount of $34 . 00
in the account of the County Clerk-Recorder.
On March 3 , 1995, we experienced a shortage of $34 . 00 at our 822
Main Street location during our computer balance procedure for work
done and monies collected for March 2 , 1995. When the shortage was
found, an extensive search took place as well as an analysis of the
clerk' s transaction of the day. The balancing clerk balances the
cash drawers manually as well as against a computer printout of
each day' s receipts. The $34 . 00 shortage was in the cash drawer
of Margaret (Toni) Ayers.
I hereby request relief and reimbursement of $34 . 00 to the account
of the County Clerk-Recorder.
I verify, under penalty of perjury, that the above information is
true to the best of my knowledge.
