April, 1995, as the Month to )
Increase the Peace in the City )
of Richmond ) Resolution 95/146
Whereas, the City of Richmond continues its commitment to crime
prevention, safe streets and violence prevention; and
Whereas, the City of Richmond also supports education and programs to
stop crime and violence in its neighborhoods; and
Whereas, the churches, youth, community leaders, non-profit agencies,
schools and businesses are coming together to reinforce the message of non-
violence conflict resolution; and
Whereas, this begins the annual effort to increase the peace and stop
violence in the City of Richmond by working together as a unified community:
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Contra
Costa County supports this effort by the City of Richmond and proclaims April,
1995, as the month to Increase the Peace in the City of Richmond and
encourages the entire community to work together on violence reduction and
violence prevention.
Introduced by Passed and adopted by unanimous votes of those
Jim Rogers, Supervisors present on April 4, 1995.
