ON THE WEST CONTRA COSTA SANITARY LANDFILL SOIL REMEDIATION FACILITY SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS AUTHORIZE the Director of Community Development to execute a contract amendment with the firm of Environmental Science Associates (ESA), Inc., for an amount not to exceed $10,675.00 (bringing the total contract amount to $25,670.00), for the preparation of environmental review documents for the West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill Soil Remediation Facility project. FISCAL IMPACT No impact to the County General Fund. The cost of the consultant contract and this contract amendment has been paid by West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill (WCCSL) Inc. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS In November 1994, the Community Development Department entered into a $14,995.00 contract with Environmental Science Associates (ESA) Inc. for the preparation of environmental review documents for the West Contra Costa Sanitar Landfill Soil Remediation Facility project. This change in operators resulted in some changes to the proposed project. Due to the changes in the project and other related delays, additional consultant work was required and resulted in increased costs to develop the final Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration.
