Dear County Clerk:
The first week in May has been celebrated for almost two decades now as "HIRE A VETERAN
WEEK". It would be greatly appreciated if you would issue a proclamation again this year,
naming May 7- 13, 1995 as "HIRE A VETERAN WEEK" in our county.
The State Employment Development Department maintains an office in Pleasant Hill. James
Jackson fills the position of Local Veterans Employment Representative. Ken Crim and Gary
Nelson are assigned here as Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Representatives. All three try to
place veterans in job openings, the latter two concentrating on finding and filling job openings for
Disabled Veterans. Calls from employers having job openings to fill are encouraged and
welcomed.
We appreciate your past contributions to veterans' benefit programs. If you would consider
personally handing the proclamation to one of the above employees, we could arrange to send a
photographer for publicity purposed, or your office could arrange the publicity. Please contact
James Jackson at 602-5029 for arrangements or additional information.
Sincerely yours,
Jaw—
