In the Matter of Commending RESOLUTION NUMBER: 95/133
BETTY GARRISON Upon Her
Retirement from County Service
WHEREAS, Betty Garrison is retiring from her position as Patient Financial Services Manager after
29 years of loyal and dedicated County Service.
WHEREAS, Betty Garrison has spent her entire County career working in one Contra Costa County
Department - Health Services. Betty's first work assignment with the County was in Health Services
Billing - at that time she was the only billing clerk for the whole Department! From there she worked
her way to Supervising Clerk, Office Manager and to her present position as Health Services
Department Patient Financial Services Manager. She has served on several state committes with
the California Association of Hospitals and Health Systems.
WHEREAS, Betty Garrison is devoted to family and looks forward to having a lot more free time to
spend with them. Betty, her husband, Dean, and their three children (Ralph, Deana and Sherry)
have spent many years with the Coast Guard which included lighthouse duty at the Farallon Islands.
WHEREAS, Betty Garrison has been an avid horsewoman here in the County for many years, she
currently has four horses -Apache, Chardonnay, Tiffany and Heather. Betty plans to devote most of
her retirement time pursuing her long time love of horses, which has always been a prominent part of
her life.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS IN THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that Betty Garrison is COMMENDED upon her retirement for her
exemplary record of twenty-nine years of public service to the citizens of Contra Costa County.
PASSED by unanimous vote of the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors members present on
this 28th day of March, 1995.

Commending Aulene Joseph ) RESOLUTION NO. 95/136
on the Occasion of )
Her Retirement )
Whereas Aulene Joseph joined the Contra Costa County workforce
on August 24, 1971, as a Public Assistance Unit Clerk in the Social
Service Department; and
Whereas Aulene brought a wide range of diversified experience
and knowledge to her new job because of her past employment both as
a legal secretary and as an executive secretary; and
Whereas on March 23, 1972, Aulene Joseph accepted the position
in the Office of the Clerk of the Board as Assistant Clerk-Board of
Supervisors; and
Whereas Aulene performed her assignments with profession-
alism and dedication to excellence that earned her the respect of
all who came in contact with her; and
Whereas Aulene has seen as well as participated in many of the
changes that occurred during her employment with Contra Costa
County; and
Whereas Aulene is an active member in the Sons of Norway
Organization, having held many offices both at the local and
district level, and is currently serving her second term as
secretary on the International Board; and
Whereas Aulene has an avid interest in camping, Rosemaling
painting, gardening, and stitchery; and
Whereas after over 23 years of County service, Aulene decided
to embark on a new career called "retirement" ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Contra Costa COMMENDS Aulene Joseph for the
service she has provided to Contra Costa County during her tenure
of employment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors EXTENDS
its best wishes to Aulene that she may enjoy happiness, health, and
prosperity in the golden years ahead.
PASSED March 28, 199A, by unanimous vote of the Board.
